The Woman's Club of Aurora is a volunteer organization that offers a diverse membership and a wide range of programs for community service, while providing members with opportunities for education, personal development and social interaction.   Our purpose is to promote education at all levels, support participation in the arts, preserve natural resources, stress good citizenship and leadership development, and serve the needs of our community.  Included in our support of area youth is the annual awarding of student scholarships.   The Club has presented major contributions to the Aurora Historical Society, Healthy Families-Aurora Site, Mutual Ground, and Wayside Cross as well as fulfilling a varied philanthropic budget.   We invite all women who reside in Aurora and surrounding communities who wish to participate in the activities of the club to join us in these endeavors.

Our club celebrated its 130th year of existence in 2021.  We were founded in 1891, following original meetings of women from several neighboring towns and communities during 1890.  We received our official charter from the state of Illinois on October 5, 1894.   Among the many accomplishments of the Woman’s Club of Aurora; our club was the founding of the first kindergartens in the city, and the awarding of hundreds of scholarships to students, including journalism, nursing, and the arts.

We currently have 97 members and continue to add new members every month.  We hope to have you as one of our newest members.  Join us for a meeting as a guest.  You will not be disappointed.
